BRODHEAD — Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy (SWLC) received a donation of $10,000 supporting increased mobility of visitors and community members at Three Waters Reserve (TWR).“The anonymous gift arrived with a letter directing us to put the money to use to ensure that TWR trails can be enjoyed by veterans, persons with disabilities, and elderly visitors,” stated Meredith Tripp, treasurer of SWLC.
This donation will be used to pay local businesses who have helped repair and upgrade the solar golf carts. Arn’s Auto Service in Brodhead and NAPA Auto Parts have replaced batteries and repaired brake lines to make the carts safe for use.
“Thank you to Green and Rock County residents and the Brodhead community for its ongoing support. We look forward to seeing the newly supercharged solar golf carts give the community access to Three Waters Reserve,” said SWLC President Steven I. Apfelbaum.
Fall is a wonderful time to take advantage of cooler weather and trails are conveniently open to the public every day. Visitors can enjoy the vast array of vibrant seasonal colors. Soon, the solar golf carts will also be available for touring TWR during organized events.
