WHITEWATER - New Glarus native Holly Erickson won second place at the 2008 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Superior Student Writing Award Ceremony.
Erickson, a senior English major, submitted her paper "The Fortens of Philadelphia" in the Research Papers and Literary Criticism and Interpretation Upper Division category. The Angela Peckenpaugh Superior Student Writing Awards are given out yearly and are separated into multiple categories and divisions. The awards are split into upper division and first-year. The categories reflect a wide range of writing disciplines. There are awards for poetry, prose, research papers and response essays.
