4-H participate in Foods Fair

MONROE — Green County 4-H Cloverbuds including youth in kindergarten through second grade participated in the annual Foods Fair April 13 at the Green County Justice Center. 

Youth were able to enter up to two items to be judged at the event. Entries included decorated cookies, decorated cupcakes, decorated cake, creative table place setting, nutritious snack, decorated apron, edible kids’ art or an educational display.

The purpose of Foods Fair is to allow younger youth to learn and explore foods and nutrition topics and to receive positive and encouraging feedback from older 4-H youth, who act as the judges of this event. This year’s youth judges were Isabella Carnes, Kaleigh Dallman, Brooke Hanson, Abby Marty and Alivia Palmer.

This year, 22 youth participated in Foods Fair: Addi Andrews (Next Generation), Mickaelynn Andrews (Washington Center), Esther Biank (New Glarus), Jonathan Biank (New Glarus), Elena Boston (Clarence Bridge Pioneers), Ava Chapman (Dayton Dairylanders), Addie Chell (Dayton Dairylanders), Dylan Fiez (Next Generation), Josie Hanson (Next Generation), Delilah Holcomb (Dougherty Creek), Isabella Johnson (Next Generation), Mykenna Jordan (Next Generation), Eli Mertens (Next Generation), Oliver Mertens (Next Generation), Nora Monigold (Washington Center), Lily Olson (Next Generation), Stella Rolli (Dayton Dairylanders), John Schlueter (Dayton Dairylanders), Jamison Smith (Washington Center), Andrew Sweeney (Next Generation), Olivia Witt (Washington Center) and Gretta Zimmerman (Dougherty Creek).
