Cheese Days Prince, Princess selected
as the 2026 Cheese Days Prince and Princess.
The pair replace 2024 Prince and Princess Reid Krueger and Stella Doyle.
Also serving as 2026 Cheese Days Royalty are Jaclyn Wuthrich and Emily Gerrits as Ambassadors, and Mike and Deb Hutchinson as King and Queen.
Green County Cheese Days returns later this year, September 18-20. The three-day event includes the Monroe Youth Hockey Association’s Cheese Days Chase on Saturday morning, Sept. 19 and the The Swiss Colony Cheese Days Parade on Sunday, Sept. 20.
Lineups for the Martha Bernet Main Stage, Colony Brands Hospitality Tent and the Saturday Kids’ Street, hosted by Green County Family YMCA, are available online at www.cheesedays.com.
The festival dates back to 1914, when it kicked off as a singular day event for the first several renditions. After being canceled in 1918 due to World War I, the festival returned about once every decade until the late 1960s. Since 1972, the festival has been held every other year except for in 2020 when it was wiped out due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first ambassador (Marion Burgy) was named in 1923. Werner and Martha Bernet were the first King and Queen selected (1980). The Prince and Princess roles joined the royal family in 1982 with Ryan Erickson and Lisa Schroeder claiming the titles. Former teachers Lee Binkley and Randy Ninmer will serve as parade marshals this year. The two were tabbed to the role in 2024, only for Sunday morning storms to wash away the culminating parade.
