Vote to keep Rep. Marklein in Assembly

From Steve Jacobson, Monroe

To the editor:

I am writing today in support of Howard Marklein as State Representative for the 51st Assembly District. In several conversations I've had with Howard, his experience in accounting and his small business background have convinced me that he will be fiscally responsible and use common sense to insure the interests of his constituents are fairly represented on the state level.

Howard has shown to be a bipartisan representative. 96 percent of all the bills Howard supported in Madison were on a bipartisan basis. All the bills Howard authored in the State Assembly were supported by members of both parties. Two of these bills received unanimous support. In addition, Howard voted for a budget that balanced a $3.6 billion deficit. Wisconsin was also finally able to pay back money that was owed to Minnesota and the Injured Patients Compensation Fund. I am proud that my state was able to add $108 million to a "rainy day" fund.

I am glad that Howard has the opportunity to represent Monroe and the Green County community. He has done a great deal of good thus far and will continue to make serving his constituents a priority. Let's vote to send Howard back to Madison to represent Green County.
