United Way vital to many programs

Since becoming this year's United Way campaign chairs, we have grown to realize that many people in our community don't understand all that the United Way does to help people in Green County, and we'd like to take this opportunity to answer that question.

The United Way is working hard in every Green County community to provide:

• Home delivered meals to the aging and disabled;

• Counseling and mentors to youth at risk;

• Emergency assistance with food, clothing and shelter for families displaced;

• Scouting opportunities for kids;

• Shelter, counseling and advocacy for victims of abuse;

• Camping and recreational opportunities for the developmentally disabled;

• Help in making homes handicap accessible for the aging and disabled.

And the list goes on, and on, and on.

You may not see it there but, the United Way is a vital part of so many important programs that are working to address the needs of people in Green County.

During this season of caring and giving, we hope you will consider a contribution to the United Way campaign. Ninety-five cents of every dollar contributed stays in our community to help our friends, neighbors, colleagues and relatives right here in Green County.

We're proud to be part of this year's United Way Campaign and hope that you will join us by giving to the United Way. To learn more call the United Way at 325-7747.
