To the editor,
What an honor it was to celebrate a few weeks ago with Dr. and Mrs. Jim Stormont and their family at the newly remodeled Monroe Clinic. I traveled there to attend the retirement celebration of one of the Clinic's finest physicians, Dr. Jim Stormont.
How you will be missed, Dr. Stormont - the visits to your office were uplifting experiences. To the physically ill and mentally strained, your loving passion for your patients was soothing for the body and soul. Your encouragement, wisdom, and at times, your direct and tough talk, were good for us. You shared your medical knowledge, yet you cared for us as one of your own.
I would like to thank Mrs. Stormont for sharing your loving husband with us for so many years. While we were playing high school football on Friday nights, Dr. Stormont was on the sidelines as our medical guardian angel. While he was caring for us at the Clinic, you were home nurturing your six children. How proud you must be of your husband and children's successes.
Dr. and Mrs. Jim Stormont and family, thank you for serving this great community with gentle hands, a loving heart, and words of wisdom and support.
Keep the spirit and passion.
