From the Green County Food Pantry
From the Green County Food Pantry On Sunday, Aug. 29, a fundraiser was held for Green Cares Food Pantry. The Apparitions MC members opened their facility to us at no charge and were exceptional hosts, along with event organizers Shelly Ellsworth, Greg and Emily Wild; and Mary Gafner. We received generous and abundant donations for our silent auction and raffle. We had brats, corn, sloppy joes, cheese trays, chips and baked goods, all donated by big-hearted Green County residents and businesses. The band Electric Blue played all afternoon and inspired dancers with their great sounds. We received 851 pounds of donated food for the pantry and more than $2,000. Silent auction items included T-shirts, collector farm toys, restaurant gift certificates, business gift cards, themed baskets, Pyrex set, tool set, oil change; and golf and bowling certificates. Top raffle prize was a one-night stay for two, including breakfast and dinner, at Chalet Laundhaus, going to the Foleys. We appreciate the effort made toward this fundraiser and along with the Apparitions, foresee a chance of this becoming an annual fun event. This pantry runs on the donations and volunteer time of, and for, the residents and businesses of Green County. In one short year, we believe we have helped make an impact in the war against hunger in our smaller world. Consider joining the many varied volunteer opportunities available in your own community. In just an hour or two a month, you could be a part of this humanitarian effort. Thank you.
