This year's "Shop with a Cop" took place Dec. 13 at the Monroe Wal-Mart and was our best year yet, helping more than 130 kids in Green County. On behalf of the Green County Law Enforcement Administrators Association (GCLEAA), we'd like to thank all the law enforcement officers who volunteered their time to make the program the success it has become. A big "thank you" goes to the Monroe Wal-Mart managers and associates for providing snacks, services and their own volunteers to help out. Many extra volunteers, consisting from church, Scouting, Explorers, AMVETS, and other organizations and individuals really helped out, too, especially since the kids we help now outnumber the cops to go shopping with. It was a tremendous turnout of volunteers and support, which really made the event special.
A special thank you goes to Santa Jim and his elf for adding so much to the excitement of the event, and an extra special thanks goes to all those who donated to the program, which has made "Shop with a Cop" such a wonderful and worthwhile event. Without your support, "Shop with a Cop" would not exist and there are no words which can express our appreciation to each and every one of you that has contributed in making "Shop with a Cop" bigger and better each year.
Thanks so much.
