Romney promises jobs? Look at Sensata

To the editor:

Honeywell, a plant in Freeport, Ill., was bought about two years ago by Sensata, which is owned by Bain Capital, a company started and run by Mitt Romney until a few years ago. He still owns 51 percent of the company and takes profits in the millions from it.

Sensata is shutting the Freeport plant at the end of this year and moving it to China. About 175 Freeport workers will lose their jobs. They will be in the unemployment lines around Christmas.

Sensata brought Chinese workers to Freeport to learn how to run the machines. Sensata made the Freeport workers train the Chinese workers who will do their jobs in China. If that's not bad enough, Sensata took down the American flag in front of the plant while the Chinese workers were at the plant and put it back up when the Chinese workers left. Mitt Romney is totally aware of all of this.

Romney promises thousands of jobs, keeping jobs from going to China, and bringing jobs back from China. I'm amazed at how he makes these promises that he knows are untrue and that he has no intention of keeping. Otherwise why would he allow 175 American workers at the plant in which he owns 51 percent of the shares to lose their jobs and send the jobs to China?

He really doesn't care about the American worker or our country.
