From David C. Riese, M.D.

Monroe

I am a native of Monroe and I am honored to declare my candidacy for alderman of Ward 6. I believe my background will allow me to listen and serve the residents more efficiently than my challengers.

I am a retired physician specializing in anesthesiology. My training taught me to gather and analyze the facts before making a decision; the same way I will represent the residents of Ward 6.

My background includes holding many challenging positions in many different venues. I am past president of the 8,000-member Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association, and past president of the Wisconsin Society of Anesthesiologists. I was twice elected chairman of the St. Clare Hospital Medical Staff. I am currently serving on the Monroe Business Improvement District Board and Main Street Board, having been the chairman for two years. I also chair the Historic Preservation Commission. Being a landlord, I am familiar with the function of our community from the view of the average citizen.

I believe the main goals for the Monroe City Council include "taming" the ever-troublesome budget, and establishment of guidelines for needed downtown development.

I will listen to your suggestions and concerns and not let my own feelings or concerns override those of the citizens of Ward 6.

I am asking for your vote on Feb.15 and April 5.
