Referendum the wrong approach to problem

Regarding the Pleasant View referendum: First off, the home is badly needed and should be continued to operate.

However, I do not agree on having a referendum to decide its fate.

We could not have a referendum to decide if we needed the Justice Center. Then the referendum we had for Walmart was non-binding, which was a waste of money and didn't include all county residents.

My thought is: First, have the 72 counties get together and have the federal government send the Medicare funds to the counties instead of to the state. This could be done with federal officials' help. The alternative would be a half-percent sales tax. Then all people would pay a share instead of putting it on the property owners.

If this continues, you are going to tax the people out of their property.
