Dropping Saturday delivery will not save the U.S. Postal Service money. It would just mean paying more overtime on Monday and calling in extra workers, nor will raising postage rates again solve the problem.

I have a friend that is a postal carrier and he says the U.S. Postal Service can save money by getting rid of the deadweight in middle management that do nothing but sit around all day drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes.
