The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank the Kiwanis Club for donating $700 to purchase candy and toys for the Easter Egg Hunt. This is the 23rd year that Kiwanis Club has sponsored the Easter Egg Hunt. A special thanks to the Kiwanians who volunteered their time to help hand out the bags and "Bunny Candy Jars" for the Easter Egg Hunt, which was held Saturday, March 22, at Monroe High School. In spite of the weather, we had more than 300 attend the Easter Egg Hunt.
Thank you to the World Project students at the Monroe Middle School for decorating the 600 white bags. Thank you to Swiss Colony for donating the "Bunny Candy Jars."
A special thank you to Kasie Duffy for being the Easter Bunny this year. We'd also like to thank the youth and adult volunteers who helped with the hunt and basket benefit.
We held our Basket Benefit before the Easter Egg Hunt. Thank you to all the individuals, families and businesses who donated a basket or items for the Basket Benefit. It was a successful fund raiser for our department, raising more than $1,300.
Thanks again everyone!
