Love, thanks to Monsignor

Monroe

I just wanted to personally take a few minutes to say what a wonderful and rewarding experience it has been to know and work for Monsignor Thomas Campion. Monsignor Campion has not only been our family priest for a number of years, but has given me the privilege to take care of his yard.

I had mentioned to Monsignor Campion a number of times I take pride in keeping "Campion Drive" at its best. Monsignor Campion would laugh and give me a hearty pat on the back or vice-like handshake.

As most of you know, Monsignor was a loving, giving, and unselfish person and always gave me a positive view of life. Through the years, I had become attached to Monsignor Campion and more or less looked at Monsignor Campion as a second "Dad" to me. He definitely had a "Gift," not only for saying the right thing at the right time, but knowing Monsignor Campion was on my side gave me that sense of ease and pride. I can't even count the number of times I would be working on Monsignor Campion's yard, when I noticed younger folks stop by and come out of Monsignor Campion's house with an armful of T-shirts. Every one of the younger folks had a huge grin on their faces when leaving. I will never forget Monsignor Campion and what Monsignor Campion has done for my family and myself.

Our community should take pride to have had such a great person such as Monsignor Campion call Monroe his home. Monsignor Campion has placed the City of Monroe on the map nationwide. As Monsignor Campion would end all the cards I received from him, "Love and Thanks." My feelings exactly.
