To the Editor:
Whenever Howard Marklein submits one of his periodic columns to the Times touting all that he and his colleagues in Madison are doing to improve our lives, he never fails to mention the expansion of rural broadband. He always fails to mention that the funds financing this expansion largely come from the Federal government, and were authorized by Democrats in the face of near-unanimous Republican opposition led by Marklein’s Republican colleague Senator Ron Johnson. Residents of Marklein’s grotesquely gerrymandered district who truly appreciate their expanded internet service should be voting for Monroe’s Pat Skogen, the Democrat who will be opposing Marklein in November. And against Ron Johnson while they’re at it.
