Vance: A rebuttle
Letter To The Editor

By Diana Vance

Monroe

To the Editor,

In response to Gene Rufer’s mendacious letter, Donald Trump when president did nothing to ward off the greatest threat to our country and the world — Climate Change. Climate Change will make some parts of earth too hot for people to live in. We have just seen a taste of it with last year’s floods, tornadoes, fires. Ocean’s will rise and flood large areas of coastal states and countries.

We still have COVID-19 with us. If Donald Trump had said “Wear masks to protect you from this deadly disease and stay home and don’t go to crowds,” people would have listened and COVID would be gone by now. Instead 400,000 Americans died from COVID-19 because he said “I am not responsible.” He was our president and he let us down — badly.

It is a disgrace that Donald Trump is a friend to Vladimir Putin. Putin is a butcher, rapist, child killer, yes completely devoid of morals.

Republicans have been taken in by a man, Donald Trump, who has a charismatic personality and they like him because of that. What many Republican senators believe is that when Mr. Trump becomes dictator with their help he is going to share that power with them. That is the biggest lie of them all. He is not sharing anything. With his narcissistic personality where all the fame and the television cameras have to be on him — Share power? Never.

By supporting Donald Trump you have allowed yourself to believe his lies. And the Republican Party feeds into that with their monthly letters that say “Lies, Lies Lies,” when referring to the democrat left.

The name calling that’s encouraged is fun for Republicans but is it adult? Respect has been taken over by rudeness and insults. Our president was always addressed with respect. After all he is the most powerful man in the world.

But what did other nations think of Trump as our president? When he addressed the countries in the United Nations he said, “I have the greatest, the best administration America has ever had.” The audience laughed at him. Do you want a president who is laughed at by the rest of the world?

You are writing about giving an ignorant man who is likable until he gets angry and then you will see rages — but giving him power with the massive army we have that are under his control. Donald Trump is not very bright. Rex Tillerson, head of Exxon and Trump’s secretary of state, called him a moron. That is unkind but it is truth. When he was president, Donald Trump ruled by creating chaos.
