To the Editor:

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of you that donated food, to help us “Stamp Out Hunger” on Saturday May 13th. We collected 3,014.5 pounds of food for the Green County Food Pantry. The awesome volunteers from the Food Pantry, as well as the retired carriers, and a couple of current post office employees that gave up their day off to help, all made the day run very smoothly. The extra hard work that all the carriers did, is greatly appreciated. 

Thanks to Pizza Hut for donating pizza for the volunteers, as well.

There are 11 million children that go to bed hungry every night in this country, which is a terrible statistic. With your help, we can make that a less common occurrence in Green County. Thank you, again, for helping us to “Stamp Out Hunger”.
