To the Editor:
Christmas greetings from city hall were very upsetting. Thanks to the new school and all its related expenses, us senior residents and struggling families, we now have to pay a large increase in our house taxes. I’m lucky that I don’t have mortgage payments but the tax amount was equal to 2 social security payments. That leaves me and many people with not a lot of money to pay the increasing household expenses.
I feel very sorry for families who have kids and have to pay those high house taxes. I feel we were given a very bad deal and wish everyone good luck who live in Monroe. Thank you for making life more difficult.
