To the Editor:

Monroe stands on the precipice of a decision that will impact our community for generations.  I am urging everyone to vote yes for our young people at the elector’s meeting on July 17.  Our students at Monroe High School and Abe Lincoln deserve to have opportunities for outdoor education and for an academic environment free from construction noise and distractions.

Students who participate in sports and extracurricular activities perform better academically than those who do not.   School activities, rehearsals, and practices held after school onsite allow students with working parents to participate.

If we want to retain talented teachers and recent graduates, we need to invest in our schools.  Please vote attend and vote yes on Monday.  Our students need you.
