To the Editor:
Robin Vos and Devin LeMahieu were caught red-handed illegally contracting to spend 1 million in taxpayer dollars to hire a couple of Washington law firms (who’ve represented Donald Trump in lawsuits) to handle the state’s redistricting for the GOP and any associated law suits.
Just think about that for a minute.
The party who consistently loses the popular vote in most of our elections just hired Donald Trump’s lawyers to help them rig our districts so that even when they actually lose the majority of elections, they still win the majority of the seats in our legislature and can maintain a grip over everything that happens (and doesn’t happen) in Wisconsin no matter how many people vote against them — for another decade. They tried to spend $1 million of your dollars to gerrymander districts in such a way as to make sure your vote doesn’t matter in this state, to make sure the minority can continue to rule over the majority.
$1 million! Your money!
If you’re wondering where your tax dollars are going, wonder why there’s never enough money to pay for fixing our roads, or our schools, or help the poor and the elderly in Wisconsin, just look directly at Robin Vos and Devin LeMahieu and ask them why.
Wisconsin taxpayers are constantly being fleeced by the state’s Republican party. But rubbing salt in the wounds this time, it’s to make sure that they can keep doing it for ANOTHER decade. This is your hard-earned money, folks, being blown on things like this desperate plot to rig our districts, like Foxconn (key word: “con”), and tax cuts that keep going primarily to the uber-rich.
If that doesn’t make you outraged, then you either don’t have a pulse or a brain. Political loyalty is one thing. Self-destructive blind worship is another. It’s time for enough people in this state to finally come to their senses and quit voting the way daddy always voted without watching what these Republicans are doing, and to start thinking for themselves, so that no matter how they attempt to rig our elections we can finally overcome their efforts to undermine majority rule and get rid of these parasites. It’s either that, or continue to have our money stolen to pay for things like this.
