Rote: Stop the mudslinging
Letter To The Editor

From Richard Rote

Monroe

To the Editor:

Usually I am not one to waste time writing Letters to the Editor to clutter the newspaper with my political views, but after reading Gene Rufer’s letter I feel the need to respond. He has every right to vote as he pleases but that does not give him the right to accuse me and every other American who did not vote for his candidate of not having common sense. That is an insult to a lot of Americans since it is being reported that at least 50% of voters did not support his candidate. This means that he is accusing 50% of the American people of not having common sense. What gives him that right? His letter has wasted a lot of space telling us what we have heard the last several months and it is certainly old news. A very small portion of it may even be factual but most of it is the same garbage we have heard over and over. And to say that the winner has surrounded himself with a wonderful team of business people appears to be a real joke! So far a sexual predator who has withdrawn his name, a woman to lead the education department who has lied about her educations, a person in charge of our health who does not believe in vaccines, and other questionable characters. There are Republicans who still are willing to put their country before their party and it will be interesting to see how they will respond. At any rate a winner has been chose and we need to see what happens and in the mean time top the mudslinging. Enough is enough!
