Letter to the Editor: Let’s use common sense

To the editor:

Republican President Donald Trump is trying to hold his presidency together, along with Congress by the comments he gives on Twitter, which if he didn’t have as a media source, he couldn’t exist. When mainstream media asks about his comments on Twitter, he doesn’t really have any good answers.

When he has a press conference, which isn’t very often, he just refuses to answer. In fact he even bans reporters whose questions he doesn’t like. When his press secretary, Sarah Sanders, talks to the media, and the press asks those same questions, she says they have to ask the president. So, Donald still keeps control of what he chooses to say on Twitter.

You would be surprised at the comments made about social media that really nobody pays attention, which isn’t true. If that was true, which it isn’t, why would all the major networks be almost instantly answering President Trump’s Twitter comments, which are put out by him any time of the day or night as if they were factual or made up. Trump even makes fun of the fact checkers who are trying to check for accuracy. He calls just about everything fake news, particularly special prosecutor Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia investigation.

In fact, President Trump is creating an enemies list like Republican President Richard Nixon did zeroing in on the FBI like James Comey and others and now the CIA like John Brennan, who was former CIA director who worked for the CIA for over 30 years. Brennan has gotten the support from the intelligence community but by supporting Brennan, they too, will be put on President Trump’s enemies list.

It was really weird when President Trump went to Helsinki, Finland when he had a summit with communist Russian President Vladimir Putin, where he praised Putin more than he believed his own intelligence agencies, such as the FBI and CIA.

The voters of this country are going to have to figure this out for themselves who is lying and who is telling the truth. There is no way I would support a communist country because it’s not even close to being run as a democracy because Putin was a former KGB agent and seems to eliminate his competition and gets to stay in office for years and years, while I do believe no president should have more than eight years in office.

Let’s use common sense.
