From Mike Bender
Monroe
To the editor:
Recently the Trail Blazers youth club placed empty grocery bags on the porches and doorknobs of homes in Monroe. There was a yellow flyer attached requesting donations for the local food pantry.
The generosity of the people of Monroe was overwhelming. The Trail Blazers were able to deliver 2,731 pounds of food and necessary items to the pantry. Many thanks to the generous people of Monroe.
Trail Blazers is the name of the local Pathfinder club which is sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist church.
Boys and girls aged 7-16 are eligible to join. That way whole families can participate in events.
Youths aged 16-18 are encouraged to become Junior staff members. The staff members teach Christian based love for nature and God’s children. The goal of staff members is to help the youth learn skills they can use in the real world.
