Letter to the Editor: Vinehout is genuine, best choice
newspaper

From Diana Vance

Monroe

To the editor:

“FEAR” is the title of reporter Bob Woodward’s latest book that will be out on Sept. 11. The book shows the harrowing atmosphere in Donald Trump’s White House.

Bob Woodward has penned 12 books and the most famous is “All the President’s Men.” If “FEAR” is anything like “All the President’s Men,” it should be a book readers can’t put down. It will give an inside look at Trump and the atmosphere he creates. Many, many people have worked in Trump’s White House and many, many have quit.

When asked what gives a president his power, Trump answered at first, respect, but changed his mind and replied that it is fear. I am very curious how Bob Woodward spins his story about that answer.

How many of you heard Senator Bob Corker calling out to the hiding senators “What are you afraid of?” As he stood alone on the senate floor he repeatedly called senators out asking each time “What are you afraid of?”

And now the multi-billionaire Koch brothers have pulled out their support for Republicans because they do not like the trade and tariff policies of the Trump White House.

Money from the Koch brothers has definitely ruined the government in Wisconsin. It is likely our governor does not live on a governor’s salary only. Walker cut state aid to schools across the state. He says now he is giving it back but that’s just election talk that will never come true if he is elected. He took one million dollars just from the schools in Monroe.

I’m voting for Kathleen Vinehout. She has been in the state senate for eight years and knows where all the bodies are buried. She has a PhD. and taught at Southern Illinois University. Writing a budget for Wisconsin took her just one day. She and her husband run a dairy farm near Alma, Wisconsin.

She grew up poor. Hard work and intelligence put her where she is. She would turn Wisconsin around from its corruption to a bona fide state. We have seen Walker corrupt our state. Sixty percent of Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation taxpayer funded loans went to dubious businesses whose owners donated to Walker. He received $2.1 million from those recipients.

Corruption on a massive scale cannot continue. Support Kathleen Vinehout. She has a different way about her that makes her a genuine person.
