Letter to the Editor: Term limits are necessary for congress
Letter To The Editor

From Emil (Mike) Rufener

Monticello

To the editor:

Before the presidential election on Nov. 3, I want the American people to know my opinion about Joe Biden.

His family has benefited by millions of dollars during his 36 years in the Senate and eight years as vice president. The benefits his brothers, Frank Biden and James Biden, and his son, Hunter, have received appear tied to regions all over the world where Joe Biden has had influence during his political career. The result has included taxpayer-funded loans, contracts from the State Department and positions on corporate boards that they had no business receiving.

Aside from Biden’s family receiving these unwarranted and highly suspicious benefits, I believe term limits are in order for many other members of Congress. The tenures of these politicians have been too long: Nancy Pelosi, 33 years; Chuck Schumer, 39 years; Maxine Waters, 29 years; Bernie Sanders, 29 years; and Patrick Leahy, 45 years.

Please don’t let Biden and his supporters defund the police and military, ration Medicare for all, ban and confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens, enact the Green New Deal and destroy the American economy or open our borders and grant citizenship and voting rights to millions of illegal aliens.

We need to abolish the Electoral College, keep liberals off the supreme court and prevent felons from having the right to vote.
