To the men and women defending our country: I think a man or a woman with a helmet defending our country should make more money than a man with a helmet defending a football.
It should go without saying that heroes on the battlefield should make more money than sports stars on the football field. And this goes for all the politicians in our government. They should not be paid more than our soldiers either. Our men and women who have served and are now serving are sacrificing their very lives. They make great sacrifices that affect their very lives and the lives of their families. Many are in other nations for months or more. It’s a lonely place and many are in dangerous places. I hear the cries of their children wanting their mom or their dad. What real sacrifices do politicians really make? There are many promises they know that they can’t keep and in the end it’s all for the money. Politicians should not be paid six-digit incomes at taxpayers’ expense while our veterans and their families are living on food stamps and wait in line at vet hospitals to get health care.
Thank God for our troops. They should be rewarded and well taken care of for their needs because they have suffered so much.
