Letter to the Editor: Novak works to make area safer
newspaper

From Steve Michek

Iowa County Sheriff

To the editor:

As Sheriff of Iowa County, it’s important that I have a strong working relationship with all elected officials, regardless of party affiliation. Keeping our communities safe knows no political boundaries. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican, Democrat, or Independent, everyone wants a safe place to work and raise a family. That’s why I’m proud to again support and endorse Todd Novak for State Assembly.

As a lifelong resident of Iowa County, Todd has his finger on the pulse of our communities. He is able to understand the complex issues facing our area and works tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe. Over the last four years, Todd has shown me time and time again that he is always just a phone call away, ready to help.

As I’m sure you know, there is a heroin and opioid epidemic facing our nation. Unfortunately, our area is no different. All too often do we hear stories of family members and friends lost to addiction. Since 2014, Representative Novak has been a champion of this issue, authoring important pieces of legislation aimed at not only combating the epidemic, but expanding access to treatment and recovery as well as providing law enforcement the tools to crack down on the illegal flow of drugs into Wisconsin.

As law enforcement officers, knowing that Todd has our back gives us the confidence to protect our communities to the fullest of our ability. Together with Todd, we have made our communities safer and a better place to live.

Please join me in supporting Todd Novak for the 51st Assembly District on Tuesday, November 6th!
