To the editor:

At a time of year to give thanks, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all our followers and supporters for all that you’ve done in 2018. We would not have been able to touch so many lives and continue Jacob’s SWAG Foundation Inc. without your love and support. If you attended one of our events, donated, or shared a story with us about your journey after losing a loved one, thank you! Due to the amazing support to us and our events, we continue our mission to area schools and communities, supporting workshops for adults that touch on suicide awareness/prevention, bullying, making good life choices and mental health.

“A New Year is like a blank book. The pen is in your hands and it is your chance to write a beautiful story for yourself.” With a new year comes change. For the last five years we have co-hosted the Angels Among Us event with Tyler’s TEAM Foundation. This event began out of the love for both Jacob and Tyler, and the strong desires to support our communities, to support those who have had personal struggles, and to those who have lost a loved one to suicide. From the very start of this event, both foundations used a five-year benchmark while planning and hosting of the event, and this past year, 2018, was the fifth year.  Jacob’s SWAG Board decided to follow our original plan, so there will not be a 2019 Angels Among Us 5K/ Walk. This event has been an amazing community event and fundraiser, and we hope that another organization will continue it. Together, both foundations worked to support our local communities and we are proud of the accomplishments, education and support we have been able to provide to many individuals.  We want to thank Tyler’s Team for partnering with Jacob’s SWAG for a variety of different events and we wish you all the best as we move forward providing education, help and support to our communities, while still remembering and honoring our sweet angels Tyler and Jacob.

Jacob’s SWAG has some amazing opportunities on the horizon and because our community believes in us, and we believe that everyone deserves a tomorrow, 2019 will be a wonderful year. Stay tuned to see what 2019 will bring.
