I am writing in response to Craig Nolen’s “Guest View” that was printed in the Wednesday, Feb. 3 issue of this paper. It is one thing to advocate for the candidate that one prefers in the race for Circuit Court Judge, but it seems totally inappropriate for someone in Nolen’s position (Green County District Attorney) to malign the other three candidates in the race. With regard to his comments about Jane Bucher I can say that a driving force of Jane’s candidacy is her concern that defendants who go through the justice system feel that they have been heard and that they have been treated fairly. In my view it is imperative that a judge not only understands the rule of law, but is committed to seeing that it is carried out in a just manner. Jane Bucher fulfills both of those imperatives. I invite you to join me in voting for Jane Bucher on Feb. 16.
