Knox: Beware to those seeking ‘Christ likeness’
Letter To The Editor

From Dan Knox

Albany

To the Editor:

Concerning the abortion debate: long ago, when considering which side I would stand on, I determined that I would follow no leader, religious or political, who caused me to call my sister a murderer. The Biblical definition of Christian is someone who is seeking “Christ likeness”. It means a person who is humbling their own sinners’ character to receive the compassion and humility of the sinless Son of God. It should give every Christian, seeking the character of Jesus, pause when those who claim Jesus in their zeal to “save babies” exclude rape and incest as reasons to allow an abortion. Logically, then, these “Christians” believe that the sixteen-year-old girl, raped and impregnated by an  alcoholic uncle is somehow fulfilling God’s will for that baby to be born. Really? Also, that the woman, beaten, raped and impregnated, is  again fulfilling God’s will so that a baby may be born. Really? The Jesus I’ve known is not so weak to need the help of a rapist.  The Biblical definition of blasphemy is when a human sinner claims for themselves powers that only God has. Beware, those of you truly seeking “Christ likeness.”
