To the Editor: 

The first thing I hear when we wake up in the morning is the birds singing, which is such a happy sound. We hope we will always hear them.

We see stray cats prowling around after the defenseless baby birds before they are able to fly.

We keep pails of water on our back porch for watering the flowers and I see many different birds using them such as robins, purple finches, goldfinches and others.

If people have cats, they should keep them indoors or tied up if they are outside.
