To the Editor:
I have been very disappointed that 35% of Americans have been brainwashed by Fox News and the former president, who have kept spewing untruths about our democracy. They do this so fast and continuously that the “main stream media” gets tired of it and doesn’t call them on their lies anymore. Lies are just accepted! The old saying that if you repeat something often enough, people will believe it, really happens.
Some readers of the Monroe Times have frequently submitted letters to the editor that mirror the bald face lies that are out there. It is sad that intelligent people can be drawn into this excrement swallowing black hole.
We have a Democracy, that is far from perfect, but it is far superior to the Dictator who has a chance to win the next presidential election. Our current leaders are far from perfect. They may not even be good, but they won’t use the FBI, Attorney General, and other powerful agencies to get retribution from his enemies, as he did in his first, and hopefully only term. The justice system moves slowly in these United States, but at least it moves relatively fairly. Yes the minorities are suffering under our justice system, but under a dictator that would be much worse.
He will surround himself with “far right, authoritarian, ultra nationalist political ideology and movement people serving their dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social Hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived benefit of the nation.”
Now that is a Fascist Dictator!
A recent Letter to the Editor, titled “We Mustn’t Repeat the 1930’s” by Hans Bernet gives a first person account of his mother Martha, who lived through the formation of a dictatorship. If that doesn’t wake up Americans, nothing will!
But the 35% will still believe their dictator is doing what is right for them. In reality he is in the race for his own benefit, to punish his detractors, and have more power to make more money for HIMSELF.
WAKE UP AMERICA.
