To the Editor:

I’m finally glad to see the Town of Sylvester has candidates running for their Town Board to give citizens a choice. Dale Howarth and Terry Reed are both running against the incumbents. 

We can choose lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, and considerate town board supervisors who will listen to the residents who attend the monthly meetings versus the single-minded approach of the last two years. 

From the destruction of our trees to the inept road maintenance of our local streets and increased taxes, we need choices for town board supervisors and I’m pleased that the incumbents are being challenged.

Every resident should have the opportunity to attend their town board meeting and be treated with kindness, professionalism, and respect for our local issues. Unfortunately, for the past two years, that has not been what has happened.

Let’s take back our Town Board and give Dale Howarth and Terry Reed an opportunity to treat us with respect and dignity while listening and responding to the concerns and desires of the residents.
