Goray: Closing for holiday responsible
Letter To The Editor

From Cathy Goray

Monroe

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the folks at Baumgartner’s and Bullquarian for showing by example how to be responsible small business owners in Monroe. With Green County leading the state in activity level with the highest number of covid cases per 100,000 residents, it is crazy to even contemplate hosting and sponsoring events such as the Celtic Crawl scheduled for March 13 in area bars. I urge the participating bar owners to reconsider this choice. It is irresponsible and dangerous. I urge people who are interested in participating, to wait it out this year. With more and more people getting vaccinated, the end is in sight, if we follow public health guidelines.

I had been trying to figure out why Green County has had such a high activity level of covid cases compared to the rest of the state. Half a million people have died of covid in the United States. It is decisions such as this that fuel these horrific numbers.

Is a night on the town really worth it?
