Buol: Are there wayward ATVs?
Letter To The Editor

From Mike Buol

Monroe

To the Editor:

Your paper recently printed a photo of the new “No ATV” signs that seemingly sprouted out of the ground overnight in Monroe like tulips on a warm spring day. The photo certainly raised more questions than gave answers. Who authorized this? What is the cost to Monroe taxpayers? Most importantly, why? Is there a problem with ATVs going where they aren’t supposed to? I drive across town pretty much every day and I’ve never witnessed a wayward ATVer doing something wrong. There is nothing warm and inviting about these signs that are littering the streets. There is a need to have one outside the Catholic church? Really? Seems to me mixed signals are being sent to the ATV crowd. Come to our city and spend money but you need to figure out what streets you are welcome on and which ones you are not. Not a good look for Cheese Days folks.
