To the Editor:
“The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.” — Rabindranath Tagore
We have an opportunity to invest in the future of our community by investing in our children to ensure that they have the kind of educational opportunities that will allow them to enter the workforce on equal footing with other young adults of their generation. These are the children that will be paying into social security, providing our health care as we age, educating future generations and innovating to solve the unprecedented challenges that we face as a nation and as a planet. I have seen first hand the many issues that plague the current high school facility and I believe that we have a duty to the children of this community to ensure that they have a safe, modern and productive facility to meet their varied educational needs. Please join me in voting yes to Monroe schools on November 8.
