From Terry Argue — Retired Green County Detective
Monticello
In my 47 years working in Green County Law Enforcement (43 as a Detective) I worked closely with the Coroner’s Office. I have attended numerous autopsies and have been involved with many death investigations.
Most of us will be fortunate enough to have little contact with the Coroner’s Office. The coroner is an important and powerful position. One of the Coroner’s concerns is establishing manner and cause of death, in all unknown — cause of death. This includes determining the difference between an accident and a suicide.
I had the privilege of working with Amy Jo Walter on many cases.
Amy Jo spent her career working as a paramedic (firefighter in the Chicago area). When Amy Jo returned home, we we’re lucky to have her work as a Deputy Coroner in Green County.
Amy Jo has attended countless hours of education in death investigation beyond her training as a paramedic/firefighter. In my opinion, Amy Jo works well and is respected by law enforcement.
Her compassion and patience with families is limitless.
I will be writing in Amy Jo Walter for Green County Coroner in November. I urge you to do the same.
