Letter to the editor: Where was Walker's compassion?

To the editor:

In a recent letter printed in The Monroe Times, the writer stated that Gov. Walker deserved admiration for his compassion when he set aside money to assist poor folks in paying high fuel bills. I ask where is/was his compassion:

When he signed Act-10 requiring public employees to pay more for their health insurance and their retirement while taking away most of their bargaining power?

When he refused to consider raising the minimum wage?

When he took millions away from our university and other educators?

When he chose to "divide and conquer" over unity?

When he and his conservative buddies tried to sneak legislation into the budget that would eliminate the open record laws?

When he signed "right to work" legislation?

When he signed legislation repealing the "prevailing wage" law?

When he refuses to even consider any pardons?

When he is against tenure for university people while signing legislation "gerrymandering" congressional districts to ensure re-election for himself and his buddies?

When his appointments to key positions reek of "cronyism"?

When he and his buddies in Madison favor secrecy by closing the door to open government?

When he went on a multi-million dollar "ego trip" in search of the presidency?

I would like the governor to know that I, too, have compassion, and to that I do, I will make him an offer. If he will promise to get out of politics, I will send him $5 to help cover his campaign debts.
