Monroe

To the editor:

School board elections are April 1. Please take the time to come out and vote for Jim Plourde, Michael Boehme and Chuck Vierthaler (a write-in candidate). All of these men care deeply about this district and will be great assets to the Board of Education.

Much has changed in education in the past few years and these new circumstances call for some new voices on the board. Mr. Plourde and Mr. Vierthaler (write-in candidate) will bring some refreshing new ideas and points of view to our board of education. They have a strong interest and understanding of the Monroe district and care deeply about how it will move forward.

Mr. Boehme has also shown sincere care and concern for the education of our young people. I know there is a sense of wanting to watch the bottom line and as a property owner I appreciate that attention. But schools produce human beings and sometimes things cannot be assessed and fixed simply by looking at the dollar. Mr. Boehme and these two candidates will take care with the financial issues, while also thinking deeply and practically about the students in our schools. One cannot be looked at while ignoring the other.

Elections are April 1. I hope you will support these two new faces, Mr. Plourde and Mr. Vierthaler (write-in candidate) and continue your support of Mr. Boehme.
