To the editor:
The Land and Conservation Committee of the Green County Board met recently to discuss an extremely important issue, and my husband and I personally would to commend the committee for the recommendation to the Green County Board to pass a moratorium on CAFOs. We not only enthusiastically but also sincerely thank the committee and appreciate their insight in making this recommendation. We urge the Green County Board to pass this recommendation at the upcoming Aug. 8 meeting.
The information presented in the Monroe Times acknowledges the impact on county health, specifically groundwater and air quality. As Jen Riemer stated in the article, "It's all about water and air." Once our water and air have been negatively impacted, there is no turning back. It is indeed a slippery slope. Please consider our present generation and future generations and support this moratorium. Thank you.
