Six months ago I was invited to a gathering to meet Dick Cates. I attended out of curiosity. Like many citizens, I have been disappointed with the quality of candidates running for public office these days. It seems that many candidates have personal agendas and very narrow, party-defined interests. I was pleasantly surprised to find in Dick Cates a man who is intelligent, thoughtful, and dedicated to civil discourse and problem-solving. Since the time of that meeting, I have come to know Dick as just that - a man of character and competence. How fortunate we are to be able to choose him as our assemblyman.
Dick's qualifications are uniquely suited to our district. He combines an acute business knowledge with a strong agricultural background. He will put our community and the long-term interests of the state first. I trust that he will balance the economic and environmental interests of this great state so that our children can live and work in a healthy environment and a thriving economy. He has been endorsed by Craig Culver, a fiscally responsible, community minded, highly successful business man. You'll find his ringing endorsement and more information about Dick on his webpage: www.cates4assembly.com.
There will be many opportunities to learn more about Dick Cates in the coming months. I encourage you to make the effort to get to know him. In November, my husband and I will be casting a ballot for Dick Cates for the 51st Assembly district. We hope you will too.
