In general I find the Monroe Times to be a good newspaper. You provide fine coverage of cultural events and sports. The amazing photos by Anthony Wahl were a true gift. I enjoyed John Morton's unique perspective and ability to use humor. I appreciate the Moments in Time series and the wonderful front-page articles about Eunice Brennan and the one about Don Brooker and the Badger Honor Flight. I always look for and enjoy the Slices of Life by the talented Jill Pertler. That being said, I am compelled to comment on the horrendous exploitation by the Times of a local family. As I read the article I became increasingly enraged and sad. This is Monroe, Wisconsin, not some huge city and the Times is not one of those awful tabloids. In Monroe we treat others with courtesy, kindness and respect. These were all sadly lacking in your article. What about the Golden Rule? How would you feel if one of your precious children was assaulted and the intimate details of the heinous violations were printed on the front page of the newspaper? Shame on you. Those details are very private and really none of our business. Once words are printed or spoken there is no way to erase or take them back. This is a wonderful family and they deserve our caring support and loving kindness. Your sensational reporting of this situation is tremendously disappointing. You have let all of us down in a very big way. What were you thinking?
