Brodhead
To the editor:
The Brodhead mayor and city council is continuing to push for housing development on the land between 15th and 17th streets and E. 6th and E. 7th avenues in southeast Brodhead. This land is too low and the water table too high for housing development. It is a cache basin for an arroyo or dry creek that still can be seen in places in Brodhead.
Some of the homeowners in the area already have basement water problems. Housing development on this land only ensures they have more problems and those that don't will.
This land should be set aside as parkland. I have proposed that it be called Prairie Park and that it would include a natural prairie.
