From Dr. Jennifer Thayer
Superintendent, New Glarus School District
To the editor:
Thank you to the New Glarus community for all you have done during the last year for the School District of New Glarus. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a giving community that provides an amazing amount of support to the New Glarus School District and our students. A few examples of the generous support of our community over the past year include:
Adding additional local scholarships to our already long, generous list
Upgrading our high school gym with new scoreboards and audio and visual equipment
Offering after school programming for students who need additional assistance
Providing coats, hats, mittens, clothes, food and more to students and their families who need extra help
Continuing to provide amazing field trips for students to many locations both in and out of state, including the Overture Center, Chicago, Wyalusing State Park, and state and national conventions
In addition, over the past year, the New Glarus School District would like to thank the entire community for their support of our students and curriculum. We could not have accomplished the following without you:
Growing our Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical career pathways
Expanding to 1-1 mobile computing where all students will be assigned a 1-1 mobile computing device to keep with them all day, every day
Being highly rated on Wisconsin School Report Cards, Niche.com, TheDailyBeast.com, and GreatSchools.org
Receiving very high scores on recent parent and staff surveys, including 100 percent of staff being proud of our district and 95 percent of parents being satisfied with the education their students receive
Keeping our tax levy rate the same for three years in a row
None of the above would be possible without the extremely generous support of our local community, businesses, community organizations, and many dedicated individuals. It takes a village to raise a child and we are extremely fortunate to be here in New Glarus, where partnerships aren't just talked about, they are a way of life.
Thank you.
