Monroe

To the editor:

The spring elections are April 1, 2014. It is very important that we all go to the polls and vote because your elected officials represent the people of Monroe and set policy for the city.

The City of Monroe faces many fiscal challenges trying to maintain our quality of life while providing the infrastructure needs and services our citizens expect. We try to do this by keeping our taxes in check as much as possible and trying to work smarter as a city. Economic development continues to be a high priority for the city. Living wage jobs are the key to sustaining our community. City staff and employees are mindful of these challenges and work very hard to make Monroe the special place it is to live and raise a family.

I have served the City of Monroe as the mayor for several years and I have greatly appreciated the support and opportunity to represent Monroe. I am asking for your vote on April 1 so I can continue serving the city as your mayor and work as hard as I can to serve its citizens.
