Monroe

To the editor:

An essential component of a strong community is a strong and effective school system that works for all. Along with good jobs and good health care, a good school system helps define the character and viability of a community. On April 4th, Monroe School District voters will have an opportunity to ensure the quality and future of their district as they consider candidates for the Board of Education.

Exceptional school board leaders are needed to first, set the vision, and then guide the implementation of that vision for the district. I highly recommend and will be voting for Nikki Matley for a position on the Board of Education for the School District of Monroe. Nikki is an exceptional leader and I'm excited about the prospect of her bringing her energy and talents to this position. I have known Nikki for more than 10 years and I know that she is the kind of leader that we need on the Board. I have seen her active leadership first hand with the Green County Development Corporation and the Monroe Kiwanis Club. She's intelligent, creative, and works well with people. She's a person that doesn't just identify the right thing; she is also the first one to volunteer to help get the job done.

Nikki Matley is exactly the kind of person that will help guide the Monroe School District to long term success. I know she will be a passionate advocate for quality education for all our children. I encourage you to join me in voting for her on April 4th.
