To the editor:
Last Sunday afternoon I attended the farmers market along with the Loaves and Fishes dinner at the Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. I found the food to be wonderful and the farmers market to be refreshing. I believe that my grandchildren found the Lego area a real treat since they spent most of their time playing in it. I would like to congratulate the men and women who work so hard to put this meal and event on - you did an awesome job.
I must confess this isn't my first time coming to this meal. I have been among those who have prepared a meal for the last two years when my church Zion/Oakley United Methodist Church of Juda sponsors it. Because of this meal I have met some wonderful people from both churches and the guest we serve.
I would encourage others to volunteer if they can, be a future sponsor of a meal, or just stop in, sit a spell, enjoy the food and chat with the people. I promise you that your life will be changed. Mine was.
