The presidential primaries are now being conducted on a nationwide basis. If you voted on April 5, you can see that the Republicans had listed 12 of the original 17, of those, only three were still in the race. On the Democratic side, three were listed from the original five, only two are still in the race. The elimination is a rather slow process but also effective.
The biggest roadblock the candidates have is to get enough money to run for office. That's exactly why "Citizen's United" is out to rig the election with unlimited amounts of cash from anonymous donors no less. This has been conspired by a 5-4 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. Since Justice Scalia died, it's a 4-4 tie where President Obama has nominated a rather conservative judge that should satisfy the Republican Party, as well as the Democrats.
The Republican Party, on instructions from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, says to put it off and do nothing until after the 2016 election and hopefully get a Republican in office, where he can pass legislation to really take care of the Supreme Court to favor groups like "Citizen's United," even though President Obama has over eight months left in office.
The GOP gamble is that if their candidate doesn't win and the Democrats win, they might nominate someone more liberal. It would just about be impossible for the Republicans to sit on the Supreme Court nomination and not do anything for four more years, even though "Citizen's United" has opened the floodgates. That's why you see politicians constantly asking for money and if you are a Democrat or Republican, you notice that by the mail you receive.
Approximately 75 percent of the voters know this and on April 5, the United to Amend referendum passed in several communities in the county by an 80 percent margin, showing that "Citizen's United" is not fooling anybody. Their goal is to get people like the Koch Brothers, Sheldon Adelson and others to favor the Republicans versus the Democrats have George Soros and others favoring them.
Now, the latest bombshell is the Panama Papers, which surfaced in Germany and they say it's affecting the world economy. President Obama recently changed the law affecting corporate inversions, and was mentioned on public TV there is a tie-in between the two. He's getting pressure from lobbyists to stop.
