To the editor:
At the next Monroe City Council meeting on Oct. 20, they are going to have a guest speaker there talking about how to get big money out of politics.
Polls show that both Republicans and Democrats favor getting big money out.
Things in the Supreme Court will probably never change as long as they keep appointing them for life when it should be one 10-year term. With all the attorneys around, then get a new one appointed. The problem is that will never change.
So, United to Amend is attempting to get around the Supreme Court by enacting a Constitutional Amendment that has to be ratified by 38 states. This might seem impossible, but already they have 16 states on board. They would like to make Wisconsin the 17th state.
United to Amend is a national as well as a state and local organization that you can look up on your computer. If you find it interesting, you could come to the Monroe City Council meeting on Oct. 20, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
